Versions of the electoral register

There are two versions of the electoral register - the electoral register and the open register (also known as the edited register).

The full version includes the names and addresses of everyone who is registered to vote, except those who register to vote anonymously.  It is used for electoral purposes - such as making sure only eligible people can vote - and for other limited purposes specified in law. The personal data in the register must always be processed in line with data-protection legislation.

The open register is an extract of the full electoral register. This version is available to anyone who wants to buy it, such as businesses or charities.

You can opt out of the open register when you register to vote. If you are already registered to vote and want to opt out, contact the electoral services team on 01476 406080 or email elections@southkesteven.gov.uk
