Young entrepreneurs wanted for new teen market

Young traders are being offered the chance to get their business off the ground as a new teenage market is launched.

The Teenage Market, on Saturday, 31st May, is the latest in a series of events to welcome visitors back to Grantham Market Place.

It is an initiative from South Kesteven Youth Council, which is now seeking stallholders to boost the numbers on the day.

Prospective young market traders aged 16+ need to fill in a form online at https://tinyurl.com/TeenMarketSK

Grantham Teenage Market comes hot on the heels of recent successful events to support regular Saturday trading as the Council continues to regenerate Grantham as part of SKDC's town centre action plan.

A spokesperson for the Council said: “We're looking forward to welcoming some energetic and vibrant young businesspeople – and to seeing the wide range of items being sold.

"It will give young people an opportunity to be entrepreneurial, trial new business ideas and sell their products. We hope the event will also encourage their friends to join in more with our local markets and learn about the process of creating, producing, buying and selling their own products.

“Their support will help bring back a busy Market Place that appeals to the people of Grantham and further afield. An attractive and vibrant focus will contribute to a market place and town centre where more people spend more time enjoying the town centre."

The series of town centre events is part of a bigger plan to create more jobs, create social spaces, bring more people into town and support the continued improvement of Grantham.

The deadline for traders to register is 10th May.
