Residents in two areas of South Kesteven are being asked for their feedback in a targeted arts and culture consultation that opens today (Wednesday 5th June 2024).
South Kesteven District Council wants to know what residents of Bourne and the Deepings think of arts and cultural opportunities available to them locally, and what else they might be interested in doing.
Information supplied will inform a bid for Arts Council funding which, if successful, will be used to encourage more events and activities.
Focusing on local availability, the consultation offers residents the chance to tell the Council what they like to do in their spare time. It closes on Wednesday 3rd July 2024.
As part of the consultation process, arts practitioners will also be contacted and asked what SKDC can do to encourage opportunities for participation.
Key to success of the funding application will be an illustration of local need, alongside a demonstration of support from those providing the activities.
A spokesperson for the Council said: “We know how important it is for us all to have opportunities to participate in arts and cultural events and that should not be dependent on where we live.
“We want to find out how people like to spend their spare time, and what else they might be interested in doing if activities were available locally.
“We also want to hear from arts and culture practitioners who either already provide opportunities for people to take part, who would like to do more, or would be interested in expanding into Bourne and the Deepings.
“Please use this opportunity to have your say.”
