The upper levels of a car park in Grantham operated by South Kesteven District Council are to temporarily close for essential maintenance.
Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Welham Street car park will close on Sunday 11th February for around 12 weeks for repairs to the car park surface and some drains maintenance.
All season ticket holders have been contacted direct and will be able to use any SKDC-operated pay and display car park during this time, taking care to display their season ticket.
Cllr Richard Cleaver, whose portfolio includes car parks, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this part closure may cause while we undertake planned improvement work as part of our general works programme around the District.
“Although we are keen to keep disruption to a minimum, we have chosen to close the upper levels of our car park in the interests of public safety while this essential maintenance is carried out. Levels 1 and 2 will remain open for use during this period for parking use.
“However, if motorists are unable to find a space at levels 1 and 2, there are several other SKDC car parks available nearby, which are convenient for the town centre.”
As well as Wharf Road multi-storey (260 spaces), other options are Guildhall Street (88 spaces), Watergate (70 spaces) and Conduit Lane (47 spaces).
