Residents have enjoyed a Christmas bonus as a thank you for their patience while energy saving upgrades were carried out on their homes.
E.ON have delivered hampers to residents in the Turnor Crescent area of Grantham as part of the energy firm’s Social Value commitment with South Kesteven District Council.
The work is being carried out as part of a project funded by the Social Housing Decarbonisation fund supported by a £6m commitment by SKDC for home energy efficiency upgrade improvements.
Cllr Virginia Moran, SKDC’s Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “We are pleased to have made such significant progress on Turnor Crescent, where the majority of the Structural Program has taken place, which is why we thought it was the right place for E.ON to make their hamper deliveries.”
A spokesperson for E.ON said: “The residents on Turnor Crescent have been incredibly patient throughout work and we were delighted to have the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer within the community during this wonderful time of year.
“These households are will soon be benefiting from the installation of external wall insulation, improving both energy efficiency and comfort – a meaningful step towards a greener and more sustainable future.”
Some 300 homes in South Kesteven will benefit from energy upgrade work, with letters sent out to eligible properties to notify tenants.
This project will result in lower energy bills and a warmer, more comfortable home at zero cost to residents.
