Charity cheques

Two charities have each been presented with £1,500 raised on their behalf by Cllr Helen Crawford during her year as Chairman of South Kesteven District Council.

Cllr Crawford, who was the Council Chairman in 2022/23 nominated the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) and St Barnabas Hospice as her chosen charities.

The LNAA provides pre-hospital critical care to the people of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and flies an average of four potentially life-saving missions a day. It receives no Government or NHS money and relies on donations from supporters.

St Barnabas Hospice is an independent charity that supports more than 12,000 people a year across Lincolnshire affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness.

Cllr Crawford said: “It was a privilege during my year in office to raise money for two such worthy causes. These charities work very hard in our communities and I know this money will be put to good use.”

Cllr Crawford (centre) presents the cheques to Jeannie Priest, a volunteer with the LNAA, and Rebecca Franks, the director of patient care with St Barnabas Hospice.
