Captivating drama on offer at Arts Centres across South Kesteven

Audiences are invited to delve into enthralling entertainment as both the Guildhall Arts Centre in Grantham and Stamford Arts Centre gear up for a series of captivating drama performances this Autumn.

In Grantham, the story of intrepid Antarctic explorer Tom Crean is brought to life in a dramatic and humorous solo performance of Discovering Antarctica: Heroic Tales Of Shackleton, Crean & Scott.

It recalls the experiences of those who faced the most daring and challenging expeditions to the Antarctic in the early 20th century.

The play, which has won critical acclaim, will be continuing its journey in the Guildhall Arts Centre on Wednesday 18th October.

Later in October, aspiring detectives are invited to What’s Your Poison? presented by the Rumpus Theatre Company.

The true-crime Victorian murder mystery tells the tale of real-life 19th century Dr William Palmer.

As a respectable member of the medical profession, the play asks the question – why are there so many unexplained deaths around him? Find out on Friday 27th October.

In Stamford on Thursday 19th October, Fatherhood draws on the personal experiences of fathers and fathering across different generations.

Bringing together physical theatre rooted in the Indian performing artform Bharatanatyam and multilingual spoken text and sign languages, the piece features three characters, each reflecting different experiences of fatherhood in their own individual performance language.

Audiences can also witness the return of professional touring theatre company, London Classic Theatre with their performance of Faith Healer.

The play tells the tale of Frank Hardy, his wife Grace and his Manager, Teddy. Frank has the gift of healing and together, they travel from village to village, offering hope and salvation to his suffering clients.

Told through four enthralling monologues, audiences can expect an extraordinary journey of shifting perspectives and uncertain memories.

Performances will take place on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th October.

A solo show by Mark Farrelly explores one of the great English writers of the inter-war years. The Silence of Snow is an entertaining and challenging watch covering the breadth of Hamilton’s thrilling life and writing.

Experience it first-hand at the Stamford Arts Centre on Friday 17th November.

Ticket booking information and details of all upcoming performances are available on the Arts Centre websites: https://www.guildhallartscentre.com/ and https://www.stamfordartscentre.com/.
