Signs and symptoms
Unfortunately, prostate cancer doesn't usually cause any symptoms until the cancer has grown large enough to put pressure on the urethra.
Later symptoms can include:
- Needing to urinate more frequently, often at night
- Needing to rush to the toilet
- Difficulty in starting to urinate
- Straining or taking a long time while urinating
- Weak flow
- Feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully

- Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
- More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average - that's 144 men every day.
